Unfathomable love of God

My dear Friends, just like the Israelites, every sinner is on exile. That is separated from God’s presence. They get stranded and gad about. They need a guide and light that will lead them home.Despite our infidelity God is still interested in us because he loves us.God’s love is unlimited, unbounded and immeasurable. A Love that seems difficult to comprehend. This love is not meritous but simply gratuitous. This love is shown in Jesus. God so loved us that he gave us his only son Jesus who died for our sins even when we’re still sinners. He is the light that has come into the world. May He kindly lead us Home from the land of our exile. Happy Sunday!

  1. What is the Church’s decision on those who have commited mortal sin like abortion or murder? Does the pope declaration and permission for priest to absolve those mortal sins during the year of mercy still hold?

    • Inasmuch as Christ gave us the Sacraments as channels of His grace, God is not bound by his Sacraments. He can still save and forgive irrespective of these Sacraments. Jesus has shown us the Father and the Father in the prism of Jesus is a loving one. The Church’s position is that of Mercy still. Although abortion remains an impediment to certain ecclesiastical offices and statutes, the fact of dispensation by the Holy See is a testament that the church, like Christ, does not take pleasure in the death of a wicked man, rather that he turns from his evil ways and live.

    • Pope Francis extended, indefinitely, the power of priests, of all rank, to forgive abortion during the year of mercy. Nothing has chanhad.

As for murder, I think every priest can absolve a penitent of murder. And I think the reason why restrictions were placed with regard to absolving penitents of abortion is: sometime ago, not everyone believe that abortion, including contraceptive practices, is sinful. Many do not acknowledge its gravity. But everyone know the gravity and enormity of murder.

      • So are u insinuating that priests now forgive every kinds of sins not withstanding the gravity?
