Path to Glory

Dear friends,

With the celebration of Palm Sunday, we are nearing the end of our Lenten journey. The celebration commemorates our Lord’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem. The celebration and other celebrations throughout the week bring to life the dramatic events of Christ’s passion, death, and resurrection. It calls on us to pay great attention to the events that demonstrate the extent to which God went to save mankind. This is the most precious week that recounts the stories of our salvation.

During the Palm Sunday celebration, Jesus enters Jerusalem as a king, not to conquer with an army but to win souls through humility, a pathway to his ultimate glory. He overturns worldly values of force, dominance, and strength to demonstrate that humility is more powerful than might. His path to glory was the Cross. It reminds the world that all suffering is not a condemnation. The Son of God underwent excruciating suffering to save mankind from sin. He is an example of humility for us to follow. The path to glory that He shows us is not the path the world expects. While the crowd shouted “Hosanna!” and spread palm branches before Him, they were expecting an earthly king who would overthrow the Romans. But Jesus chose the way of the Cross, the way of suffering, rejection, and sacrificial love. What looked like defeat to the world became the greatest victory in history.

The same path is available to us. Our journey to glory does not depend on comfort, power, or recognition but on following Jesus through humility, obedience, and patient endurance of trials. The Cross remains the only true road that leads to resurrection and eternal glory. Every difficulty, sacrifice, and moment of silent suffering offered to God can become part of our own path to glory. As we enter this Holy Week, let us walk with Jesus. Let us not run away from the cross in our lives but embrace it with faith and love. May we learn from our Lord that true greatness is found in humble service, and true victory is achieved through self-giving love. May He grant us the grace to follow Him faithfully this week so that we, too, may share in His glory. Amen.
