Be vigilant in waiting for the Lord. 

Dear friends, Christ is the fulfillment of the promise of the one who shall judge between the nations and bring lasting peace to all. However, we ought be vigilant in waiting for him. He has come among us in human flesh. He comes amongst us daily through his words and sacrament. And will come again in glory at the end of our lives. May his coming not be so sudden to us, may we put on the armor of light and conduct ourselves becomingly in waiting for the day of the Son of man. Amen.
