Ascension: A revelation of Man’s destiny

My dear friends, the ascension of Christ to heaven is not a total departure from the world. thus, it does not call for sorrow and dissatisfaction. it is the end of the beginning;end of his bodily presence and beginning of God’s omnipresence. So Christ has become more close to us in a profound way.  Christ ascension is a revelation of his transcendental nature. That is, He has a life beyond the ordinary. By his ascension, he has become our advocate before the throne of God for he sits at the right hand of the father. So we have  great  intercessor that pleads for us always. From heaven,  He will fulfill  the promise of a Counselor. More so, Christ’s Ascension is a revelation of man’s destiny. Man’s destiny is beyond this material world.  The world is only a temporary residence. Such truth should elicit joy and hopeful living. This is  because  our sorrows and pains in this temporary residence  has an expiration date. May the  Ascended Christ help us to focus on our own ascension to heaven. Happy Solemnity of Ascension
