Jesus our model in overcoming temptations. 

Temptation is part of human experience. We are tempted according to our capacity, position and statue in the society. Adam and Eve were tempted by Satan and they submitted to his antics because they were not faithful to God’s word. Jesus resisted the devil’s enticements  because  he was faithful to and dependent on the word of God. His faithfulness and obedience to the Word of God reversed the act of disobedience of our first parent that brought us death. Jesus’ temptation is a pointer to us that no human being is immune to temptation. But with Jesus’ triumph, we are hopeful that no temptation is beyond defeat. Therefore, we must not give in to self-indulgence. Let us trust and rely on the unfailing love and word of God to conquer Satan always. Happy Sunday!
