“I Am the Resurrection and the Life”

Dear Friends
As we journey deeper into Lent, the last Sunday before Holy Week. The Gospel of the Raising of Lazarus reveals to us one of the most powerful truths about Jesus: He is the resurrection and the life. This is not only a promise for the future but also a reality in our lives today.
In the midst of grief and loss, Martha encounters Jesus and is invited to move from belief in a distant resurrection to faith in a living person standing before her. Jesus not only gives life, but He is also life. Where He is present, death, despair, and darkness do not have the final word.
This sacred moment invites us to recognize the areas in our lives that feel like tombs, places of sin, discouragement, fear, or spiritual dryness. Like Lazarus, we may feel bound and unable to move forward. Yet Christ calls each of us by name and says, “Come out.” Jesus has not stopped reaching out and calling us to come out from the ugly situations that separate us from him and the Church. Let us hear these words always and act towards them.
This Sunday reminds us that no situation is beyond God’s power. When we place our trust in Christ, He leads us from death to life, from despair to hope, and from sin to grace. As we approach Easter, may we deepen our faith in Jesus, the source of true life, and allow Him to renew us from within.
Amen.
