Dear Friends,
Today, the Church proclaims Christ as King, not a ruler of earthly power, but the Lord who reigns from the wood of the Cross. In Him, we see that true kingship is service, sacrifice, and the gift of mercy.
Pope Benedict XVI reminds us that hope is not an idea but a person: Jesus Christ Himself. On Calvary, the thief discovered this hope when he whispered, “Jesus, remember me,” and the King opened the gates of paradise. Christ our King reigns with a crown of thorns, showing that hope grows even in suffering.
This Jubilee invites us to rediscover that same confidence: no situation is beyond the reach of Christ’s saving love. Our king calls us to become witnesses of hope in a world tired of fear and empty promises. May Christ our King strengthen us to be real bearers of hope, to live as His joyful disciples, for in Him our hope is sure and our salvation secure.
