Remember Death

Dear friend,

Memory is one of the most powerful faculties we possess. It allows us to recall past experiences and events—moments that shape who we are. There are memories we cherish deeply, while others we would rather forget. Yet, all of them influence us; they inspire, teach, and guide our choices in life. Indeed, we are people who remember.

Today, the Church invites us to remember death—the end of our earthly journey. She calls us to remember the passing of our loved ones and, ultimately, to contemplate our own mortality. This remembrance is not meant to instill fear but to inspire wisdom and right choices while we still live.

To remember death is to be reminded of life’s purpose. It directs our hearts toward eternity and helps us to live each day with gratitude and hope.

May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
